SONEC Boys Lacrosse — Middle School Age Tryouts for Grades 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th (2031- 2034)

We provide programming for athletes from fourth grade through junior year of high school. Prospective players are encouraged to attend a SONEC Lacrosse practice, where we evaluate each athlete’s current skill level, potential, personality, and work ethic while getting to know them as individuals. This experience also gives players the opportunity to engage with our coaches and team while seeing firsthand what SONEC Lacrosse is all about.

Our process goes beyond traditional tryouts. Rather than a free-for-all competition for roster spots, we prioritize meaningful development—ensuring every athlete leaves improved, regardless of the outcome. Players train under experienced coaches and compete alongside and against some of the top talent in Rhode Island, creating an environment that challenges and elevates everyone involved

Tryout dates, time & location:       Sunday August 30th from 10:00-12:00, East Greenwich High School   Middle School Boys grades 5- 8  (YOG 2031-2034), Middletown High School

  • Registration Opens: September
  • Season Runs: August– July 31 (partial season options available)
  • Schedule: Sundays alternating between East Greenwich High School and Middletown High School, winter sessions in Seekonk/Tiverton & North Kingstown
  • Tryout Fee: $25.00 + transaction fee
  • USA Lacrosse Membership Required — must extend past program end date
  • Tournament Play - 3 summer tourneys and at least 2 fall tournaments, all regional.
  • SONEC will expand age groups into high school with the 2031 players.

  • Season Runs

    September 1  – July 31

  • Sundays & Some Wednesdays: Alternating between East Greenwich High School & Middletown High School . Tentative Schedule: September 13th Middletown HS, 11:00-1:00 September 20th, EG HS, 11-1:00, September 27th, Middletown HS 11-1:00.
